A "one woman powerhouse"

for video projects.

Her Story

A first-generation Canadian and the first in her immediate family to attend and graduate from university, Margarita grew up with a keen interest in documentary filmmaking. She studied Media Production at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Radio & Television Arts at Ryerson University) and immediately upon graduating worked for the University training students on the various video/lighting equipment, editing software, audio and radio equipment for a few years. Some of her early career work included documentaries on BIPOC Women in the arts in a Scarborough High School and medical documentaries on a young man with a degenerative eye condition that travels to India for a sight-saving surgery. She often donates her time for organizations she cares for, creating content for various non-governmental organizations such as Anti-Gun Violence Basketball Tournaments and Bike Rides to end Violence Against Women as well as Doctors Without Borders, providing editing services of doctors' captures from the field in Yemen, Syria and the DRC.

She has worked on various reality shows for the CBC as an audience assistant, on set as a camera operator for interviews with KISS Frontman Gene Simmons, Masterchef Susur Lee and Olympic Swimmer and Bronze Medalist Martha McCabe, to name a few.

She worked for many years as a videographer for Indie88 (88.1 FM) capturing the Toronto music scene, and music festivals such as SXSW, Bestival, Canadian Music Week, Sappyfest and more. She continues to create live music video capture and indie DIY music videos for client and friends alike.
